Self-discipline

We all have some goals or targets in our lives to be achieved on some points, it doesn’t have to be big. The goals can be small things as: getting up at 5:00 AM in the early morning; half hour’s walk or jogging in the early morning; reading a book each week; writing an article or posting a blog each day; drinking more water, eating less oily food; developing a complete new skill; getting promotion within a year ect… …

All the above things require one very important skill Self-discipline on a daily basis to help us achieve whatever the target we set, no matter how small or big it is.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what background you come from, the Self-discipline is the common and vital skill for all of us to comprehend, as long as you have a goal to achieve.

English is not my native Language, I started learning English when I was teenager. Frankly speaking, I didn’t enjoy English learning at the beginning when I was very young, because, just like many others non-English speakers thought, I didn’t need another Language skill by then, and lack of motivation of concentration on this.

However, once I enrolled into the University, I started to realized the importance of being able to comprehend another language skill. It’s like you find another way to explore and gain more knowledge and view from different way or angle. It will assist you to think and observe matters from an even higher position with a better integrity.

Then, I set up a schedule to help myself reach this goal of English improvement. I got up at 5:30 every morning, and grabbed an English learning book to the sport ground or somewhere else quiet while most of others were still in a sound sleep. I read loudly and repetitively lesson after lesson to practice my oral English pronunciation and improved my listening skills by constantly listening to English radio programs … ect

I also left the shyness aside and encouraged myself to chat with other English speakers in an awkward accent… To be frank, it was not easy, and very embarrassing, so what, let it be. That’s exactly the reason why I want to learn and improve it.

After several months later, I could tell that I was able to communicate with those English speakers fluently with more confidence.

Without the self-discipline, it hardly could be achieved. As a matter of fact, nothing hardly could be achieved if lack of self-discipline.

So, if you got a goal, no matter how big or small they are, get it done little by little with great Patience and Self-discipline. You will be fine in the end!!
